Lazy JS Ranch Roots
We have a rich heritage....having our roots at the Lazy JS Ranch in Bowman, ND. Nada's parents, Russ and Fran Silha established the Quarter Horse program early in their marriage. They hosted their first production sale in 1959 and the family hosted their 64th annual production sale in August 2023, making it one of the longest running sales in the United States.

The ranch has been recognized by the American Quarter Horse Association with both the Legacy Award and with the Ranching Heritage Breeder's Designation. Russ passed away in 1997 but left the ranch in good hands with Fran and son, Logan, his wife, Diana, and their family. The ranch was awarded the 50 years of continuous production award in 2010 and Logan and Diana were able to make the trip to Amarillo to receive the award. Also in 2010, family patriarch, Russ, was inducted into the North Dakota Cowboy Hall of Fame posthumously. The ranch is currently being operated by Russ' granddaughter, Logan's daughter, Tressa and her husband, Jason Dodge and family. Diana still resides on the ranch.
2024 will be the ranch's 65th annual sale.
